Upon graduation Jimam became an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of History and International Studies at the University of Jos. While on the King’s College Fellowship, he served as Conference Facilitator for the First International Conference on Radicalization and Political Violence, London in January 2008 and participated in the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) Conference on US Africa Command (AFRICOM) and Africa, in February 2008. Jimam has a BA in History (University of Jos, Nigeria), a MA in History (Nigeria) and a MA in Conflict Security and Development (King’s College London).
Research Interests
- Intra- and inter-group relations in Post Colonial Central Nigeria (with a bias for conflict and socio-political studies)
- Security Sector Reform (SSR) in West Africa
