Toyin Ajao is the principal partner of StandTall Consulting, a firm focusing on research and capacity building on security, gender, sexuality and women’s rights. Toyin was a past Women Peace and security fellow of the African Leadership Centre (2010). She badged her first degree in Management and Accounting at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife, Nigeria. Toyin is a two-time international award winning blogger and a co-editor of ‘free2run’ (women in politics) blog. She was a panelist at the 55th UN Commission on the Women Status, New York, where she advocated for the need to document women’s participation in peacemaking in Africa. Her past work focused on women, gender, sexuality and social media activism. Toyin had worked with change-making NGOs including Baobab for Women’s Human Rights, and Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre Nigeria. Toyin is on the board of Vision Spring Initiative Nigeria. At the completion of her post graduate studies, she plans to move into full time research and teaching where she can contribute and share knowledge with others.
