Her background in security is focused on humanitarian issues. She has worked for the International Rescue Committee, Bujumbura to assist internally displaced people in Burundi for 4 years before returning to her University education. Upon graduation, she worked with Care International Burundi and was responsible for coordinating an orphans and vulnerable children project in Northern Burundi. She is particularly dedicated to building sustainable peace in her region through the work of local organisations. Claudine is also an avid poet and author, and has been awarded national prizes in this regard. Claudine holds a BA-Com Honours degree in Economics and Information Systems and Technology (University of Kwazulu-Natal).
