Wadeisor Rukato (Zimbabwean)

Ms Wadeisor Rukato holds a Master of Art degree in China Studies, with a concentration in International Relations, from Peking University’s Yenching Academy. She also holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) degree from the University of Cape Town (UCT), where she later taught courses in International Political Economy (IPE) and Foreign Policy Analysis. Wadeisor is also co-founder of From Africa to China, an online platform which seeks to add a youth voice to the dynamic discourse on Africa-China relations. Her experience with youth work most recently manifested in her coordinating a United World Colleges (UWC) Short Course on development in Swaziland (2017-2018) and a subsequent Short Course on conflict (2018) at the International School Moshi (ISM) in Tanzania for youth between the ages of 16-20. Wadeisor’s broad research interests include: the security dimensions of Africa-China relations; the role of youth in peace and security in Africa; and the effectiveness of experiential peace education programs in both pre-conflict and post conflict environments.
