African Innovation and Leadership in the face of COVID-19
As coronavirus become a global pandemic many predicted dire impacts for Africa. These predictions often focused on inaccurate and outdated understanding of the continent. These predictions have so far, turned out to be unfounded. In many cases African governments and organisations have responded with effective and innovative leadership.
In a special event with the King’s College London ‘WORLD: we got this’ podcast and the African Leadership Centre we put Africa in focus. We discuss the initial responses to the outbreak; why representations of African leadership matter, the innovative approaches being taken to public health and the possible long-term impacts of COVID-19 on the political, economic, and cultural life of Africa.
