Join the African Leadership Centre (ALC) Fellows, at King's College London and ALC-Nairobi, who will be hosting an online Webinar as part of the UKs Black History Month celebration titled: “(Re)Envisioning African Leadership” happening this coming this Friday 28th October 2022, 2-4 pm GMT/ 4-6 pm EAT
About the Event:
The event will discuss the leadership and visions of three key African leaders from the 20th century, Prof. Wangari Mathaai, Patrice Lumumba, and Thomas Sankara. The focus of the discussion will be to gain critical insight into past leadership on the continent, so that we may learn and re-think what African leadership in the 21st century ought to look like - ideologically and pragmatically. Through an exploration of three key speeches, we will build a discussion based on each leader’s ‘vision for the future’, and consider what lessons to both (re)envision and (re)apply in the contemporary - and future - African context.
The discussion will include a screening of famous speeches from these 3 African liberation and hero leaders, followed by a panelist and Q+A discussion.
